Update: Still battling without power

Many people are still without electricity from yesterday morning (Thursday).

Early Thursday morning, power went off in some parts of Ladysmith.

However, this was not load-shedding and instead the result of a transformer tripping.  There were also blown cables in the Monument Lane area.

A blown transformer was fixed yesterday afternoon, with power coming back on for only 2 hours before going off again.

Since yesterday morning, municipal electricians have been hard at work trying to fix the problem. They are still busy and it is not yet known when power will be restored to the affected areas.
