The school had their annual inter-house athletics fun day on Saturday, February 14. They were blessed with wonderful weather and a lot of eager young faces, ready to start the day. Mr Swanepoel and his team did an excellent job of preparing the field and getting everything ready. Mrs Lloyd was the refreshments lady and made sure that the officials were well hydrated and their tummy’s full.
Some of the top athletes were: Thando Zondi, Nontobeko Mnyandu, Ayabonga Ndlela, Samkelo Sithebe, Junior Botha, Smelokuhle Masondo, Sbonelo Shelembe, Sibonelo Hlatswayo, Khulani Zulu, Connor le Roux, Bianca Hunlun, Maryke Coetzee, Owethu Zulu and Monique Botha.
Senior Victrix Ludorum: Celestine Jackson; Junior Victrix Ludorum: Alwande Ngogoma; Senior Victor Ludorum: Samkelo Buthelezi; Junior Victor Ludorum: Jarren Theron.
The school had a teacher vs parent vs children relay where eight teams were running against each other in the 4 x 100m. Needless to say the teachers won by far with their new youngsters. A selected group of athletes have been chosen to represent the school at the Endumeni Circuit Athletics meeting in Dundee. Thank you to all the teachers for making the day possible and to the parents who helped.
