Vryheid Child Welfare is well renowned for their extensive heritage of making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and destitute families but the current state of their finances may see this slight ray of hope disappearing.
According to staff members their financial situation has taken quite a knock as two of their main sponsors have not placed any donations this year as was promised.
As the Department is said to only sponsor 50% funding towards the Non Profit Organisation( NPO), the rest is obtained from local as well as overseas sponsors.
Child Welfare say that they have not received tariff increases since 2013 and this has made things very difficult for them as prices for things such as water and electricity are going up and staff members need to be paid.
They are currently servicing 11 areas around Vryheid, all of whom are in great need.
In an attempt to aid their dwindling finances, the organisation’s staff members have taken to doing numerous charity projects to raise funds.
Among these are their food collections, charity shops and bargain bin.
They are appealing to community members to support these projects as they are in dire need.
Those who are willing to place donations or help with sponsorships are encouraged to do so as this is for a good cause and many hard up families will benefit.
