Back to school for Mr Mculwane

It was alleged that Mr Mculwane sexually assaulted an educator and threatened staff of Phumalanga Primary in Loskop in 2011

After four years, Phumalanga Primary School’s former principal, Mr Mculwane returned to school on Monday, February 2. Mr Mculwane was accompanied by inspectors from the Education Department, as they were to welcome him as he returned to work and notify the school that he has been cleared of the charges he faced.  It was alleged that Mr Mculwane sexually assaulted an educator and threatened staff of Phumalanga Primary in Loskop in 2011.

Mr Mculwane was charged with misconduct on a number of counts and was found guilty in 2011. Mr Mculwane was then suspended from duty while the matter was being investigated. Mr Mculwane handed his appeal over to the Education Labour Relations Council. The appeal was dismissed and he was then demoted. After investigations, the Education Labour Relations Council found Mr Mculwane not guilty of the charges against him and was reinstated to his former position of Principal at Phumalanga Primary School.
