As we enter a new year, we have such great things to look forward to, especially when it comes to electricity… Please spend a few minutes of your time watching the “South Africa in 2o16” video at the end of this article.
What will it be like in the year ahead when load-shedding strikes and you do not have candles and other useful tools on hand to light up the situation? The answer is “child’s play”!
1) Did you know that an ordinary children’s crayon will burn for a staggering 30 minutes?
2) Did you know that braais do not need electricity? Of course you did…
3) Important safety tip: Turn off all tools, appliances and electronic equipment… It could be very shocking if you do not!
4) Be slow to reconnect stuff: Give the electrical system a chance to stabilise before reconnecting tools and appliances. The first time being slow is a good thing!
