The danger to passing motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and animals is evident

Danger lurks at the corner of De Waal Drive and Pylon Avenue. A deep hole has formed, which residents suspect formed as a result of a waste water pipe under the road surface that has been damaged, which caused the road to collapse. Democratic Alliance Councillor LeRoy Gericke says that the hole formed about three months ago and he reported it to the municipality. “I visited the site with the Senior Civil Technician and since then the municipality has excavated around the area. It’s been two weeks since then and they are working very slowly,” commented Mr Gericke. The danger to passing motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and animals is evident. “If someone comes around the corner without seeing it, they may lose a car,” quipped Mr Gericke.
