Doctor recovering well in hospital
Dr Beukes was initially admitted to La Verna Hospital and was then moved to Gateway Private Hospital in Durban
Doctor Beukes is recovering well at Gateway Private Hospital after the accident he had on Saturday, January 17.
The accident happened on the bypass and saw the well-known local doctor being dragged by his double-cab bakkie against the road barrier. This resulted in him suffering a broken pelvis and several broken ribs.
He was initially admitted to La Verna Hospital and was then moved to Gateway Private Hospital in Durban.
Dr Beukes has been getting stronger all the time and is close to being back on his feet again.
He was moved out of ICU into a normal ward on Monday and if everything goes well, he should be back home by the weekend. He says he is looking forward to getting back to work.
