The seven-month-old baby who suffered severe burns at the hands of his mother’s negligence yesterday, is not her first child to have underwent this trauma.
The elder sibling, who was two at the time, also suffered severe burns after hot water had fallen on him, again as a result of their mother’s negligence.
According to the child’s mother, Siyathokoza Nokuthula Zulu, “I was giving the children a bath, the water had been boiling in a pot on the gas stove. The child ran past it and it fell on him.”
