Three suspects, aged between 25 and 35, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the uThukela deputy mayor. The deputy mayor, 35-year-old BD Mazibuko, was stabbed to death in a Bergville tavern on November 29 after allegedly being involved in an argument, which resulted in a brawl.
He was fatally stabbed in the neck. Police has also recovered the alleged murder weapon. The suspects appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court. The Mayor of uThukela District Municipality Mrs DCP Mazibuko expressed her grief on passing of the Deputy Mayor Bhekuyise Donald Mazibuko.
Mazibuko was killed on November 29. “Mr Mazibuko’s passing on is a great loss to his family, to the Municipality and indeed to the uThukela community. He will dearly be missed not only by his friends and family but by everyone he came into contact with”.
