Stabbing of people on the rise in Glencoe

Young man facing murder charge after fatal stabbing

A young man from Sithembile has been charged with murder after a man died after he was stabbed in the chest  in the early hours of November 29 . The victim died on his way to hospital. Investigations are being conducted by police.

Man assaulted and stabbed

A man was brutally assaulted and stabbed by two others on November 09. It is said that the man sent his nephew to buy cold drink for him but the child came back home with nothing.When asked where was the cold drink he reported that a man had approached him on his way back home  and pushed him which resulted in the cold drink falling on the ground and breaking.

The man then went to the tuck shop where his nephew’s ‘assaulter’ was. Upon seeing him, the man came out of the shop with a knobkerrie and started assaulting the uncle. He then took out a knife and stabbed him. The assault continued as the shop owner also joined in and assaulted the uncle.. At this stage no one has been arrested police are investigating.

House burgled while woman sleeps

Investigations are being conducted by the Glencoe SAPS after a woman reported that her cellphone and lap were  stolen from  her house while she was asleep. The suspect apparently gained access to the house through her bedroom window.

Property worth R12 990 stolen

Construction property worth R12 990 was stolen from a  construction site in Sithembile, Glencoe on Sunday December 7. Tools, two generators, paint and extension cords were stolen. The security guard informed the manager that the door of the premises had been forced open.

An old grudge persists

A man was struck with a beer bottle on his head and stabbed while walking home.  The culprit was then apparently joined by his brother and some friends who continued assaulting the victim. They left him bleeding on the road. Another passer by came to this aid and took him to hospital.  Police said the attack was probably the result of ‘an old grudge’. No one has been arrested in this case. To date, no arrests have been made.
Stabbed outside the beer hall

A man was stabbed by another man outside the Sithembile beer hall in the early hours of December 5. The man was urinating outside the hall when he was stabbed in the back. He was later taken to hospital.

Robbed and stabbed in his house

A man was stabbed on his forehead at his home when men entered his house and demanded items;  they made off with five cell phones and a pair of takkies. No one has been arrested thus far and police are investigating the case.
