Chaos reigns supreme during power outage

Chaos has reigned on Newcastle roads during the power outage shortly after 4pm this afternoon.

Traffic officials were deployed to ensure normal traffic flow, but were subsequently stuck in traffic.

Traffic has now calmed as the peak period has subsided.

No further information has been made available to the Newcastle Advertiser at this time regarding the power outage.

However, power has been restored via a back up system while the electrical department is searching for the cause of the problem.
