Councillor Mbatha honoured for his achievements

A leader who put God first before anything else in his life.

Councillor Siboniso Mbatha not only serves his community in ward 5, he also serves the man above all men, God. Councillor Siboniso Mbatha recently graduated after obtaining his Advanced Diploma in Research in Theology on the same day he was appointed as the Priest of his church, the Holy Ministry Zion Church, which is based in Msinga.
The two combined events brought together different churches honouring him on his success and achievement – a special day indeed for this young man. He was presented with a red Priest’s gown by members of his church to honour him for being their leader.
Asked how politics and church fuse together he said that politics needs to be corrected on it’s own. Our leaders need to have consciences, love and truth in order to be able to lead the people. He said that everything in the end needs God no matter how in denial people are at the end. When people need help they call on the Holy fathers name. He said even functions organised by the municipality begin and end with a prayer.
His intention as a Councillor “is to do everything with the truth in front of Gods people”. Councillor Mbatha started as a District facilitator for the Umzinyathi Community Care Givers where he worked with different people from around the district including clinic and hospitals.
He has always loved working with people so getting into politics was something that did not intimidate him because he has worked with people before and loves working with them.
Through his journey while he was studying he said he learned perseverance and he was able to conquer many obstacles because he believes the word of the Lord is always with him. He further indicated that being a politician is not easy as it requires perseverance and love for the people you serve.
