Camp Buffalo to the rescue at Mbizimbele School

Camp Buffalo Game Farm (a Land Affairs farm project) handed over 950 sponsored library books to the Mbizimbele School on November 27.

Camp Buffalo Game Farm brought literacy joy and clean water to Mbizimbele School. This was after Camp Buffalo Game Farm (a Land Affairs farm project) handed over 950 sponsored library books to the Mbizimbele School on November 27.
These books will upgrade the little library that they already have. The books range from simple Grade one literature, IsiZulu and English, to more advanced Biology and Science. The books will not only improve the children’s vocabulary but will aid in choosing correct subjects during High school.

The Camp Buffalo and the Elandskraal area in general have seen a steady increase in illegal dog hunting over the past few years. Many of the community members are unaware that these activities are in fact illegal. A picture story describing these illegal activities are pasted inside most of the books’ front covers, along with the local Helpmekaar Police station contact number to report such activities.
Camp Buffalo is also currently in the process of laying a sponsored pipeline from a fresh-water spring to the school.
This will provide the school with permanent running water throughout the year. Currently, there is only water available in the rainy season from the gutters on the roof. Next year the intention is to provide running water to some parts of the community as well.
