Winterton businessman’s murderers found guilty

Two men involved in the murder of Winterton businessman Mr Rajoo Grewan in June last year were convicted of murder yesterday (Tuesday). The guilty parties also robbed Mr Grewan and his wife at the time.

The two men, Nhlanhla Gumbi and Siyethemba Mfeka, held up Mr Grewan and his wife at gunpoint at their home. The deceased was then taken to a nearby field and shot by the robbers.

The suspects fled, leaving Mr Grewan with serious injuries. He died shortly thereafter.

In court, Judge Thoba Poyo-Dlwati dismissed the guilty parties’ alibis. Sentencing is expected to begin today (Wednesday).
