Rivers of Mercy for artist Sandile Khumalo

Local singers had an opportunity to sing back-up for the famous gospel musician, Thina Zungu.

Local gospel artist, Sandile Khumalo, launched his second album titled ‘Rivers of Mercy’ on October 31 at the Moth Hall.
Among the performing artists was the famous gospel singer Thina Zungu, who wowed the crowd with his amazing spiritual voice when he sang his famous songs, ‘Kwanqaba Umusa’ and ‘Nginguthandiwe’. His powerful voice got the crowd on their feet.

Isihlabani emculweni wezokholo, uThina Zungu uhlanyise izihlwele ngephimbo lakhe elimtoti. Bekuvuma wonke umuntu lapho eseshaya kona izingoma zakheezidumile ezifana no’Thandiwe’ kanye nalena ethi ‘wanqab’uMusa.’

Sandile said that his album, ‘Rivers of Mercy’, is gospel music mixed with other genres such as hip-hop, house, R&B and traditional gospel. It is a 14-song CD with an additional instrumental song, recorded under Nqubeko Productions, which is his own recording company. The songs are composed by him and Madodana Khoza.

Local group ‘Intense Praise’ was present, singing along with the Ladysmith Lighthouse Worship groups. These groups made the night a memorable one as they took to centre-stage and performed their best songs. They also had the opportunity to back up Thina Zungu.

There were also solo performances by Nkosinathi Mjiyakho, Nomfundo Finiza and Siphiwe Mashazi. A touching speech was delivered by Luyanda Potwana, well-known presenter from the SABC1 show ‘Nyan’nyan’, and Apostol Nyandeni from the famous seminar ‘Intshukumo’.

Sandile is experienced in the music industry, and also stars in the local movie ‘Zanele’, playing the character of Bavuyiswa. His co-worker, Mama-J, was also present. Sandile extends his sincerest gratitude to all who supported his event and made it a success. He hopes his upcoming events will be just as well supported.
