Phumelelani Primary School excels at Edu- Plant Provincial Elimination

The school will attend Permaculture Designer Course in Howick in December

Phumelelani Primary did well in the Edu- Plant Provincial Elimination (Emerging Schools Category). This gave them a licence to represent KZN in the National Elimination, hosted by Bosco Center in Johannesburg (Gauteng) from September 6 to 10.

Phumelelani became one of the top schools at national level. The school will attend Permaculture Designer Course in Howick in December. Mrs ES Mbele (Permaculture Convenor) wishes to take the school to greater heights next year by participating in the Intermediate category.

Basically Edu Plant Permaculture Projects is initiated by food and trees for Africa sponsored by Engen and Woolworths. Its main objective is to mentor and encourage schools to take care of the environment by integrating healthy environment issues to the curriculum. Furthermore to create a sustainable food producing environment that conserves and manage natural resources sustainably.

The school thanks Ms NM Cebekhulu (Principal) for inspiring educators and learners to participate by nurturing variety of talents and life skills in our learners over and above the curriculum.
