If you are Pieter Bester at The Guinea Fowl on Beaconsfield Street you would be forgiven for thinking what must I do to stop motorists treating my coffee shop like a drive-thru?

Following on from July’s horrific crash which saw an out of control police van plough through five parking, meters, four pillars and a gutter – to bring down the Guinea Fowl’s veranda roof, yet another errant motorist has been doing a bit of pavement ploughting.

A white car reportedly ‘went forward instead of going backwards’ and smashed into a pillar – only a few weeks after repairs were finally completed.

Pieter is now thinking of putting up a cast iron barrier to keep motorists out…
