The first cricket team participated in the Cowboy 8 cricket tournament hosted by Dundee Junior and came back smiling. There were a total of nine teams participating and playing to win the sought after trophy.

They played their first match against Huttenpark and managed to win by a big margin. Stiaan van Zyl was adjudicated as man of the match. The second match was against a very strong Athlone team from Pietermaritzburg that beat them but they managed to keep most of their wickets intact to raise their points.

The third game was against Ichtus and again they did not lose a lot of wickets. Then in the last match they scored 70 runs in the allotted 8 overs and only lost 1 wicket to boost their totals. Ernst van Rooyen was awarded man of the match for the last game against Leandra for his 26 runs scored.

With a total of 204 runs and the loss of only 8 wickets over the two days Glencoe Primary School is very proud to have been placed second in the Cowboy 8 tournament.
