Dry Road gets wet after pipe burst

"These vehicles could have caused the pipe to bend or be pinched"

Dry Road, which runs past the Indoor Sports Complex, was very wet on Friday morning due to a burst pipe at the side of the road.

The burst happened early Friday morning, causing water to spray all over the road. Motorists were inconvenienced and had to drive around the area to avoid the water.

uThukela officials were contacted, and workers were sent out to assess the problem and fix the pipe. According to one of the workers at the scene, the cause of the leak might be the number of heavy trucks that use that route on a daily basis and sometimes park at the side of the road. “These vehicles could have caused the pipe to bend or be pinched,” said the uThukela employee.

Workers were seen fixing the pipe on Friday and Saturday.
