‘It’s really coming down now!’ – Weather SA issues flash flood warning

The South African Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for some provinces.

Weather SA earlier today issued a flash flood warning due to the heavy rains expected for the next two days.

“Heavy [rain] falls leading to flash flooding are possible in the Free State, North West province, and the Western Cape for today,” said forecaster, Madimetja Thema.

It seems Newcastle, and KwaZulu-Natal, is not exempt, although no warning has been issued for the province.

The much needed downpour is expected to continue for the next two days.

Residents are urged to drive with caution and to avoid areas in town that are prone to flooding.
