GPS Astronomy team enjoys the bay

The determination from the learners was a pleasure to witness as they took to their books while on the road like real nerds.

It was with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm that the Glencoe Primary Astronomy Team left for Richards Bay.

The determination from the learners was a pleasure to witness as they took to their books while on the road like real nerds. Thursday evening in Richards Bay was filled with fun, games and a movie with fresh popcorn. It was an enjoyable evening, not only for the four learners but also for the two accompanying teachers.

Both the learners and teachers had an early start on Friday, as time was spent at the Science Centre looking at experiments while waiting anxiously for the competition to start. The Glencoe Primary team was filled with pride when they finished second in the third round.

This guaranteed them a spot in the fourth round, in which questions became even more difficult. Only one team could go through to the finals, and unfortunately the Glencoe Primary team came up a bit short in the end. The school is very proud of the medals and certificates received for their efforts.
