Crocodile found lurking in Newcastle

The crocodile was found in a small tributary near Chelmsford Dam.

Crocodiles are fond of basking in the sun on riverbanks and preying on anything unfortunate that comes across its path.

Many questions were raised when a crocodile was found on a farm after it had killed and partially consumed a cow in calf, just 15 kilometres from
Chelmsford Dam.

The origins of this crocodile are unknown, although it is speculated it came from an illegal breeding farm in the Normandien area.

According to sources, the crocodile was found purely by chance by an astonished farm worker in a tributary flowing into Chelmsford Dam.

The crocodile was captured and removed by Parks Board officials.

Investigations have been launched to establish the origins of the predator.
