Final ‘Black Widow’ accused jailed

Mrs Dlamini, dubbed the Black Widow, was arrested and charged and it was heard at her court case that she had paid the men R15 000 to carry out the murder.

The fourth accused in the Black Widow case has been jailed for 20 years for murder and 10 years for robbery, Nkazimulo Dlamini (18) was a minor when he and three others were hired by Thembelihle Dlamini to kill the father of her child, Zamani Ngema in March 2012.
Dlamini was the last piece in the jigsaw – a puzzle which saw Mrs Dlamini – who was a nurse at Dundee Hospital – jailed for arranging her husband’s murder.
She had hired the four men who arrived at Ngeman’s Peacevale home, assaulted and kill him and bundle him into the boot of a car. From there, his body was dumped in a clump of trees in the Helpmekaar area.
His decomposed body was later found and a police investigation began under Detectives Mpungose and Nkabini. Mrs Dlamini was arrested and charged and it was heard at her court case that she had paid the men R15 000 to carry out the murder.
She said that Mr Ngema had been abusive towards her and her child. Sakhile Mthethwa (32), Mlindeni Mthethwa (30) and Qhelani Mthethwa (28) all received the maximum sentence for murder and ten years for robbery.
Dlamini appeared in the High Court in front of Judge Fikile Mokgohloa. The court paid tribute to the Dundee detectives for their fine work in ensuring the accused were brought to book.
