Truck flattens fence, wall

High drama on Victoria Street last night as monster truck runs out of control

A runaway coal truck smashed through a palisade fence and a wall adjacent to TFS Wholesalers on Victoria Street at around 7.30pm last night.

Miraculously, no one was injured.  Witnesses said the truck had broken down and the driver had inadvertently parked the truck at a right angle, partially blocking traffic.

Later, the truck, with a North West registration number, started rolling towards TFS.  A brick wall and a palisade fence were flattened.  Fortunately, the driver’s cab hit the roof of the building that brought the truck to a sudden stop – leaving behind a trial of destruction.
