Ezakheni police clamp down on serious crime

Ezakheni police have been highly successful during their day-to-day crime prevention operations over the past week.

During these operations, police aimed their activities at addressing the crimes of assault and housebreaking, paying particular attention to the root causes of these crimes.

20 people were arrested, including five for assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), where the suspects were between the ages of 19 and 61 years of age. There was one arrest for theft, three for the illegal sale of liquor (where the suspects were between the ages of 23 and 80 years of age), five for drinking liquor in a public place, and one for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

In addition, there was one arrest for assault common, two arrests for housebreaking and theft (where the suspects were aged 17 and 18), one arrest for malicious damage to property, and one arrest for rape (where the suspect was 17 years old).

Day by day, Ezakheni police are effectively clamping down on all serious crimes being committed in the area.
