PAULPIETERSBURG Community Service Centre members received a complaint on September 20 of a motor vehicle that was stolen at Welbedacht Farm.

The members attended the scene and it was later discovered that the vehicle was found abandoned not far from where it was stolen. The suspects were spotted by the community members who gave chase and apprehended them. The suspects, aged 44 and 48, were also found in a possession of another stolen vehicle which was stolen in Vryheid on September 17.

They will appear in the Paulpietersburg Magistrates’ Court on September 29.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the community members for the role they played in the arrest of the perpetrators.

“This is the kind of partnership we desire from our communities. If we can strengthen it, we can win the battle against criminals in this province,” she said.
