Ward 4 residents share their concerns

Despite concerns raised, Cllr de Jager said there were positive outcomes in Ward 4.

Disgruntled Ward 4 residents had the opportunity to voice their concerns at a public meeting held at the Town Hall last week Wednesday.

Meeting with Ward 4 councillor, Tanya de Jager, residents complained about people racing down Ryder Haggard and McIntosh Road.

“We need speed bumps allocated to the roads.”

Cllr de Jager agreed speed humps were a necessity and undertook to look into the matter. “As a councillor, I get two speed bumps a year to allocate and will do my best,” she promised.

Residents also complained about motorists who drove through parks and about the general bad state of park equipment.

Despite concerns raised, Cllr de Jager said there were positive outcomes in Ward 4.

“The Kirkland Street dump has been cleared and systems have been put into place to keep the property clean. The construction work on Murchison Street is also nearly complete and I want to thank the municipality for all their assistance,” she said.
