SAPS have issued a warning regarding falsely advertised vacancies.

In a statement by Captain Shooz Magudulela, SAPS spokesperson, inaccurate advertisements are circulating on social network and a website named www.saleslearnership.com.

“The advertisements form part of a scam aimed at misleading the public and possibly corruptly attempt to enlist candidates into the SAPS. We are looking into the origins of these advertisements and those who are involved in this scam. Whether or not they are employed by the SAPS, they will be dealt with harshly,” said Captain Magudulela.

The recruitment of police officers is done on the official SAPS website and in local newspapers.

To date, Captain Magudulela said no incidents have been reported in Newcastle. Fraudulent looking advertisements can be reported to Cluster Commander, Major General Oupa Maseko on 034 314 6767.
