Teeing off in the valley

The challenge last Friday was to raise funds for the Ncandu Combined School development project.

In sweltering heat, 65 golfers braved the lush greens and sloping fairways of Vulintaba Golf Course during the Builders Warehouse Golf Tournament.

The challenge last Friday was to raise funds for the Ncandu Combined School development project.

Both contractors and suppliers were invited to participate in the tourney and build bridges.

“We would like to thank our sponsors, PPC Cement, Dynamic Artistic Solution (DAS), NPC and Ruwag Power Tools for assisting us in hosting the golf day, and raising funds,” said store manager, Gert Gerringer.

The golf course was challenging for some of the golfers even though the mountain winds associated with the course were not present.

This did not deter golfers from enjoying their round of 18.

“Great company makes great golf, and that is what we have here today,” said Kavan Naidoo.

He said the greens and fairways were in pristine condition, making it a pleaseure to play.

Professional golfer, Brendon van Nieuwenhuize believed although challenging for some, the course was one of the best.

“The course is pumped with lots water and fertiliser to keep an excellent playing field all year round.”
