Oscar found ‘not guilty’ of murder

Paralympian found not guilt of murder.

As the whole world watched, listened and even read about the case, Judge Thokozile Masipa declared that Oscar Pistorius was ‘not guilty’ of premeditated murder or murder.

In her ruling today, Judge Masipa said that the evidence for premeditated murder was “purely circumstantial”.

“I am here talking about direct intention. The State has clearly not proven beyond reasonable doubt that the accused is guilty of premeditated murder.”

She later went on to say, ‘the accused therefore cannot be found guilty of murder dolus eventualis (legal intent) … that however is not the end of the matter as culpable homicide is a competent verdict.

Proceedings have wrapped up for the day in the #OscarTrial at the Pretoria’s North Gauteng High Court and will continue tomorrow.

Judge Masipa will deliver judgement on a charge of culpable homicide and other gun related charges tomorrow.
