The BBRAUN Kidneywise team assisted by Lancet Laboratory, provided free health screening tests at the Newcastle Mall on September 2 for National Kidney week.
The aim of the screening was to raise awareness and allow the community to detect any health concerns, prevent further kidney damage and advise them on how to manage their health correctly.
The Kidneywise team screened members of the community for various conditions such as high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, and also measured their height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI).
By testing these conditions and considering the family history of the patient, the Kidneywise team were able to assess if the patients were predisposed to poor kidney health or kidney failure.
The day was very well supported by the community.
