12-year-old Megan de Beer competed at the Dance Maters of South Africa competition on August 29.

Competing for the first time at this competition, she was really surprised at the results she achieved.

She danced her Hip Hop, Modern, Tap solo dances and in the open section. Megan achieved gold for all four dances (Open 81%; Tap 87%; Modern 86% and Hip Hop 84%). The talented young dancer was also awarded her Federation Colours in Modern, Tap and Hip Hop.

Young Megan was invited to dance on Sunday, August 31, to qualify for the Dance Masters SA Team, which she successfully did and will be travelling with the team to Florida in 2016 to dance! Owner of and teacher at Stepping Out Dance Academy, Marina de Beer also danced with her son, Danie de Beer, and daughter, Megan, and all three were awarded gold for their dance, scoring 83%.
