The award was given to Sister Maureen to recognise and accredit her dedication within the community

“As a token of appreciation for serving the community with your, time, dedication and compassion…” Founder and CEO of Project Life Desiree Moonsamy, together with members of the Saint John’s Roman Catholic Church awarded Sister Maureen Aaron with a certificate titled “Community Woman of the Year 2014.

The award was given to Sister Maureen to recognise and accredit her dedication within the community. Desiree believes every woman should follow in Sister Maureen’s footsteps as she is compassionate and eager about making a difference despite the odds and always remains humbled. Desiree referred to Sister Maureen as Estcourt’s very own Mother Teresa.
Sister Maureen’s team cares for more than 200 HIV patients, orphans, vulnerable children, the sick, the poor and elderly.

The award was accepted on behalf of the 15 caregivers she works with and board of management. “I want to thank them for their continuous team spirit as well as all the members involved who recognised our work,” said Sister Maureen in gratitude.
