THE ABAQULUSI Wellness Centre welcomed back Nomsa Thusi from the United Kingdom after 14 years.
Nomsa, who is originally from Mondlo is a nurse by profession and seized the opportunity to become a medical worker abroad back in 2000.
“I was a nurse educator (tutor) at Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital in Nquthu and left because I wanted to compare South Africa’s medical system to that of a first world country,” she said.
Nomsa said that she enjoyed her time abroad and that she gained a lot of valuable knowledge.
She was reunited with the Wellness Centre ladies at the Youth Business Forum, which was held at Cecil Emmett earlier this year.
“When I met them there, I was truly touched when they told me about this charitable organisation they had started,” she recalled.
When she came back from the UK, Nomsa says that she was no longer looking for employment, rather ways in which she could reach out to her community.
She felt that the Wellness Centre would form a great platform for this and so joined them as an enthusiastic Women Empowerment Speaker.
Working for the Wellness Centre, Nomsa said that she hopes she can help bring a positive unity to women in Vryheid as she believes they hold great potential.
“Through women uniting, the world can slowly but surely be changed,” she concluded.
