Reading is the right thing to do

As South Africa celebrates National Book Week, shocking statistics have emerged about SA’s culture of reading.

Statistics report that only 14% of the South African population are active book readers and a mere 5% of parents read to their children.

National Book Week encourages people to value reading as a fun activity.

This week, people are encouraged to read more and spread the love of books.

The week ends with International Literacy Day on September 8.
