LHS welcomes Spring with ice-cream and civvies

Learners paid R10 for a combination of Civvies Day and the chance to enjoy some delicious ice-cream

LHS pupils welcomed the first day of Spring in possibly the coolest and brightest way with Ola ice-cream and casual clothes earlier today (Monday).

Thanks to a fund-raising initiative by Mr S Govender, who came up with the idea, learners paid R10 for a combination of Civvies Day and the chance to enjoy some delicious ice-cream.

“Since it’s the launch of Spring today, I thought we would allow our learners to enjoy an ice-cream experience. It’s probably some kind of record, as every learner at our school will be consuming ice-cream at the same time,” said Mr Govender, who is part of the fund-raising committee at the school.

There was also a bonus where those learners who are celebrating a birthday this week received special gifts together with their ice-cream.

It was a great morning at the school, with a festive atmosphere and icy delights for all.

Who said dessert ever has to wait?
