Weekend snow warning?

Inclement weather and strong winds may affect travel conditions along the N3 through the weekend and into early next week

There is very little chance of snow this weekend in Van Reenen, with authorities however warning motorists to be aware of the cold weather conditions and the possibility of sleet / rain.

Despite N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) having warned motorists about possible snowfall on the N3 Toll Route this weekend, as a cold front approaches, it is unlikely to affect Ladysmith or Van Reenen.

“According to the most recent SA Weather Services advisory, there is a strong possibility of snowfall inland this weekend in the Southern Free State, KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg, Midlands and many parts of Lesotho,” said N3TC commercial manager Con Roux.

Inclement weather and strong winds may affect travel conditions along the N3 through the weekend and into early next week. According to Traffic ZN, windy conditions are prevailing along most of the N3 Toll Route. There is light sleet in Mooi River and the Midlands.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution.
