Father, grandfather arrested for molesting daughters

The men, father and grandfather to the victims, appeared in court on Wednesday, August 20. Sources confirmed both suspects served the magistrate with written confessions of their crimes.

Friends and family were shocked to their core after two men were arrested last Sunday on charges of child molestation.

For more than five years, two young girls were subjected to physical degradation at the hands of two men they trusted, respected and loved.

The men, father and grandfather to the victims, appeared in court on Wednesday, August 20. Sources confirmed both suspects served the magistrate with written confessions of their crimes.

According to reports, one of the victims spoke out to a family member, who alerted the police.

The girls are believed to now be between the ages of 17 and 20, but would have been minors at the time of the alleged molestation.

With the men in custody, and the court case ongoing, the community of Newcastle responded to the article published online.

Sandile Zulu wished the Advertiser would make the names of the suspects known.“They should be known so we can keep our children away,
and also, this could help other victims who are hiding to come out,” read the comment.

“I do not understand why the Newcastle Advertiser is hiding names and photos of child molesters.”Another reader, ‘Asma’, responded to the comment, asking for understanding of the precarious emotional position the victims and the family were now in.

“I do understand… And I agree in a way…. But what if that was ur (sic) family how would you have felt? It is beter that there are no names mentioned…. Just think the trauma (sic) those 2 children must go through at the moment… And everything will be worse wen (sic) people find
out who they are.”
