A light motor vehicle with three occupants rolled this afternoon on the N3 near the Bergville Toll Plaza, injuring all three people in the car.
The vehicle was travelling northbound when it lost one of its wheels and the driver lost control. The car flipped, side-swiped a truck and then flipped again, landing on the oncoming southbound lane. The accident temporarily blocked traffic flow.
The occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured and paramedics had to use the jaws of life to free them from the wreckage. All of the patients were removed from the vehicle, stabilised and transported to hospital for further treatment.
Sharaj Ambulance Services, EMRS, ER24, N3TC, SAPS, RTI and towing services responded to the scene.
