A great day at Bhekathina High School

The flag was presented to the school community, accompanied by music and poetry with the lyrics being the vision and mission of the school

The educators and learners of Bhekathina High School in Ntabamhlophe started their day with oomph and great excitement.
The school is making waves and its existence is noticeable in learners performance, sports and culture.
Another gesture of talent left the staff overwhelmed when Sabelo Siko Hadebe from grade 12A invented and designed a school flag.
Sabelo recruited his friend and classmate Sphephelo Mlaba who has drawing skill and he wholeheartedly drew and painted the flag using the school colours. This marked history at the school. The flag was presented to the school community, accompanied by music and poetry with the lyrics being the vision and mission of the school. The Principal Mr KS Ngema and staff were surprised and thrilled as learners sang the Bhekathina anthem composed by Sabelo Hadebe, Sphephelo Mlaba and Nkosikhona Khuzwayo when the flag was hoisted.
Mrs SY Mathambo who was the Programme Director for the day and is also the Arts and Culture educator took the opportunity to outline the significance of the national flag as well as the new school flag.
The school Principal Mr Ngema said: “We are blessed to have learners of this calibre, hopefully they are going to pass their matric exams with flying colours and we will miss them.”
