Open a book and improve your heart

Partnering with the Newcastle Library, a health awareness programme will be hosted on September 1 from 5.30pm.

Aiming to benefit the community, the Newcastle Heart Foundation has shown consistent growth since its inception.

Having recently established its headquarters at the Fernwood Community Centre, the organisation has big plans to achieve its goals.

Partnering with the Newcastle Library, a health awareness programme will be hosted on September 1 from 5.30pm.

“We want to make a healthy difference to everyone’s lives, which is why we are expanding our operations from being limited to our headquarters,” explained foundation co-founder, Satchoo Chetty.

Guest speakers will include specialist diabetic nurse and educator, Sister Estelle Liebenberg and dietician, Sonja van der Merwe.

Attendees will be given the floor to pose questions to the experienced medical professionals on how they can improve their health.

“Hearts are not as easy to read as a book, but reading a book can also help improve your health. We would like to thank the Newcastle Library for committing to making health improvement books available to the public,” said Mr Chetty.
