Community Women of the Year are…

But to everyone's surprise there was not just one Community Woman of the Year but two, yes two who came in joint first place

“The value of a woman enhances every second…”
Despite the unpleasant weather, spirits were high with suspense at the town hall on Saturday, August 9, as people were eager to know who would be crowned the Community Woman of the Year.
The event was described as a historic event and a first of its kind in Estcourt.
Touching and inspirational speeches were delivered and the key concept of most of them encouraged the women of Estcourt to do more and to become more involved in making a difference. Acting Station Commissioner Colonel RZ Mabaso from the SAPS said that just being elected as a nominee felt as if she had won the title already and that it was an honour to be part of a event of this kind. DJ Yahska rocked the decks and the students of Project Life kept the guests entertained for the evening.
Other guests were acknowledged with gifts for giving a helping hand to the children of Project Life.
After a lucky draw was done, finally the moment all had been waiting for came to pass.
But to everyone’s surprise there was not just one Community Woman of the Year but two, yes two who came in joint first place.
Project Life were proud to announce that the title of Community Woman of the Year 2014 has been awarded to Nafisa Gunkel from the Protection Services and Ronelle Mungaroo from the Estcourt and Midlands News. And with loud screams, whistles and big round of applause they were both left amazed.
The ladies were gladdened that their dedication benefited people in more than one way and look forward to working together to continue to serve the community of Estcourt.
Nafisa Gunkel and Ronelle Mungaroo have become the first to earn the title of Community Woman of the Year 2014. As a reward, it’s been arranged for a destination for two to Durban, which is a fully paid trip and a spa voucher.
All the nominees each received a small token of appreciation for being been very diligent and ingenious in their work and were thanked for going the extra mile.
Over dinner, hearty congratulations were passed onto the two newly crowned ladies as well as thanks to Desiree Moonsamy from Project Life for pulling off such an event with great success.
