Election posters still line the streets

It's a poster plague of a different sort as election posters still litter the town.

Election posters erected during the last National Elections continue to litter the town.
The posters, which were put up over three months ago, can still be found on light poles in and around the central business district. Many of them have been damaged already.
Political parties have failed to remove their posters despite the warnings that they would be fined for failing to do so.

“I believe that the affected political parties should act responsibly and remove their long overdue posters since they have served the intended purpose and are now looking very unattractive on the light poles and on other structures, said Councillor Bedassi of the Democratic Alliance. The failure to remove the posters and now in contravention of the Endumeni Municipalities by-laws.
“It is a concern that three months after the elections, hundreds of election posters still line the streets. Not only are they an eyesore, but they display the arrogance and disregard that parties have for the laws and rules of municipalities,” Dr Bedassi concluded.
