Marching to end atrocities in Palestine

The march signified solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are currently under attack from the Israeli Defence Force

Hundreds of local Muslims, both young and old, joined thousands of protesters around the country for a ‘Palestine Day’ solidarity march this morning (Saturday) in Ladysmith.

The march was held in Murchison Street, ending at the Town Hall. Public Safety, together with police, ensured that everything went smoothly.

The march signified solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are currently under attack from the Israeli Defence Force.

The town came to a standstill, with the main street being closed and lots of onlookers crowding around to see what was going on and understand a bit more about the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Anyone concerned about the atrocities being committed in Palestine, not necessarily Muslim, were encouraged to take part in the march and ultimately bring to bear an end to diplomatic and trade links with Israel until it ends its oppression of the Palestinian people.
