K9 officers arrived in Carbineer Road this morning (Tuesday), where illegal immigrants were parked at the side of the road. The K9 Unit was called for assistance by Public Safety, who were first at the scene.
This after Public Safety officers noticed two overloaded bakkies parked in Carbineer Road.
When the officers approached the vehicles, they found men and women sleeping inside. A search was carried out and the occupants were asked for identity documents, which they could not produce. They instead produced invalid passports.
When K9 officers arrived, they searched for drugs, but found nothing.
The more than 10 illegal immigrants were taken to the police station and charged. Public Safety impounded both vehicles.
