Is your ‘My Family’ sticker a blueprint for criminals?

According to police in the USA, the stickers provide a detailed report on your family.

Social media has been overrun with a debate about the ‘My Family’ stickers that residents put on their cars.

According to police in the USA, the stickers provide a detailed report on your family, how many members are in your family and how many pets you have.

Residents of Newcastle are also familiar with these stickers, and many cars sport this innocent portrayal of their family lives.

An article posted online quoted an American police official:

“While police don’t necessarily advocate against the decals, the least amount of public information made available about you and your family will result in the fewest amount of opportunities for anything to occur at the hands of any potential predators.”

On the other hand, some debaters are calling it fear-mongering and nonsensical, saying the stickers are harmless.

This picture below was posted on social media by an American community outreach organisation, and shows how the sticker can be interpreted:

What do you think? Have you stuck one of these stickers up on your car? Do you feel unsafe? Leave your comments below.
