The sudden death of the 40-year-old, who had a heart attack this morning in the CBD, has left a huge hole to fill

Shock waves rippled through Ladysmith after Thesan Chetty passed away. Thesan, who worked for NN Alarms, was well-known and liked by fellow law enforcement and security officers.

The sudden death of the 40-year-old, who had a heart attack this morning in the CBD, has left a huge hole to fill.

Thesan was employed for NN Alarms Reaction Unit and was on duty at the time. Colleagues who had seen him book on duty on Wednesday morning confirmed that he had complained of chest pains and was supposed to go to a doctor during the course of the day. At the time of the attack, he was patrolling the CBD.

He notified his control room, who contacted Public Safety. Public Safety and medical emergency personnel from Sharaj Ambulance Services and ER24 responded. According to a medic, he was in a critical condition. He was rushed to hospital.

On arrival at La Verna Hospital, he was declared dead..

He will be dearly missed by colleagues, police, Public Safety, family and friends.
