ON the weekend of May 23, some of our learners took part in the KZN Inland Hockey trials in Pietermaritzburg.

These trials took place at St John’s and St Charles’. We would like to congratulate Jaco Keeve who made the KZN Inland C team and Yusuf Khan who is their non-travelling reserve.

On Wednesday, the girls travelled to Paulpietersburg to play hockey. The u/7’s and u/8’s both lost their matches but the u/9’s did us proud and won 11 – 1. The first team girls played well in their stunning new outfits, but unfortunately lost 2 – 0.

The senior boys also played a tournament on Wednesday, hosted by us on the NRS fields.

The results were as follows: Michaelis u/13 lost against Biggarsberg’s A team 0 – 1 and against Uelzen’s A team 3 – 4. They drew against Dundee’s A team and Ichtus 1 – 1. The U11 team lost against Uelzen’s B team 0 – 4 and against Dundee’s B team 0 – 2.

We would like to thank Paulpietersburg Primary School for hosting us on Wednesday and also NRS for the use of their sports fields and facilities.
