Foetus found in dog’s jaws

The foetus was discarded after birth, and the mother is believed to be a high school pupil.

The grisly discovery of a foetus in a dog’s mouth has sparked outrage in the oSizweni community.

On Monday morning near Boxer Stores, Phindile Nene was on her way to do some shopping when she noticed a bloody feral dog, with a tiny body clamped in its jaws.
Horrified, she screamed for passers-by for help.

The frightened dog dropped its prize after a short chase from members of the oSizweni community, while others rushed to the nearby police station to inform the SAPS.

Once the tiny corpse had been recovered, the pieces of the puzzle were reassembled.
According to sister paper, Amajuba Eyethu, the foetus had been abandoned outside a gate shortly after birth, and was carried into an overgrown area by the dog.

Further allegations stated the mother of the child was a high school pupil.

“The baby is a newborn, owing to its size and because the umbilical cord was still attached.”

Shortly after the gruesome incident came to light, the oSizweni community expressed a cumulative fury at what they described as an ‘embarrassment and an insult to this community’.

A murder case has been opened, and the SAPS vowed to investigate the matter with all due seriousness.
