Wrestlers in medal quest

This two exceptional talents are setting the bench mark on the wrestling mat

Two young wrestlers came home with three medals from the President’s National SA Wrestling Championships in Cape Town. Edrich Nortjé and Willem Husselman of the Rhino Wrestling Club impressed at the Championships, in which there are no age divisions – wrestlers competed by weight only. Over 400 wrestlers participated.

Edrich won a silver medal in the Greco Roman division and bronze for free style, while Willem bagged a silver for Greco Roman. Impressively, the local club won three of the five medals won by KZN.

The Rhino Wrestling Club, which practices at Sarel Cilliers High School in Glencoe, currently has 40 members and continues to grow.
